All iPhone models have a capacitive touchscreen. Cap-what you say? Capacitance is how much electricity something is capable of holding. The electricity in one part of the screen is lighting it up.
But in another part the of touchscreen electricity is just sitting doing nothing. Since the human body conducts electricity, when it comes in contact with the screen it changes how much electricity can sit there. The phone just figures out where the electric charge is changed by your finger the most so it knows where you tapped.

As shown in the diagram above, there is a liquid crystal display (LCD) at the bottom which shows the picture. On the very top is a hard layer for protection. But everything else in between is for the touchscreen. It’s all transparent so you can see the picture but you’re actually tapping separate touchscreen layers on top of it.
In the past, the LCD and touchscreen layers were more separate. Newer phones are seeing more integration of LCD and touch technology. One reason for that is to make phones even thinner and lighter.
So what about fixing a screen? While you might be able to see your phone screen mostly even when it gets a crack, your touchscreen is much more fragile. When electricity can’t sit evenly, there is no way to figure out where a touch is happening. So it’s pretty much all-or-nothing for a cracked screen: it usually either works ok or it doesn’t.
These days, phones are being made so fast it’s far easier to get a brand new screen then it is to try to fix a broken one; not to mention it may be impossible to fix it %100 in some cases. Once you get a replacement screen, you have to be able to take a phone apart and put it back together with the new part. iPhones in particular are complicated in all aspects.

So you have an extra iPhone. Or maybe you switched to Android. Or you need cash. You’ll be much better off selling your iPhone (or iPad or whatever) right here in Orlando, Florida instead of hundreds or thousands of miles away. Deal with someone face-to-face. You can call us right now at (407) 990-1061.
Here are three reasons why it’s better to sell your iPhone to a store near you like iFixNSell:
People sometimes underestimate the power of keeping money close to home. When you deal with a manufacturer, your phone could leave Florida and go to California. That phone gets sold and then someone buys a sandwich in California with that money. Doing business locally keeps wealth circulating in the neighborhood and city where you live.
There is no substitute for dealing with people face-to-face. When you look someone in the eye you can tell if they are being honest with you. Talking is natural and a lot easier than emails back and forth or phone messages back and forth. It’s nice to interact with do business with human beings instead of vending machines.
There is no comparison: get cash in minutes or get cash in days. iFixNSell has several locations in Orlando to serve you better. You can even get a quote before you come in on our buy back site.
The world is completely wiped out by a huge planetary collision but yet humans start a new life on Bronson Beta in “When Worlds Collide.” Meanwhile, in actual Earth, the desktop computer has just been destroyed by a huge mobile phone collision. But a new life is emerging where all kinds of consumer devices – cell phones, tables, and OK, there are still some desktops – live in harmony. Let’s look at some key facts.
In March of 2017, the unthinkable happened: Microsoft Windows, still in full strength, became a minority. Android became the most widely used operating system (OS) in the world. It’s also worth noting that Apple’s desktop operating system, OS X, saw no increase in market share while it’s mobile OS has continued to rise slowly. At worst, we can say it’s now a level playing field: no one type of computer is dominating overall. But how did that happen?

Back in 2014, the number of mobile device users met and exceeded the number of desktop computer users. But many people had both desktops and mobile devices, so the market share was still much larger. If you’ll notice, there has simply been a gradual increase in smartphone use over the last ten years. Still, desktop users have not just thrown their systems out the window and picked up phones.

The present landscape is that most people using modern technology have multiple devices: desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, smartwatches. That has several implications in the marketplace. For example, peripherals are no longer primarily USB and serial ports but rather a wide array of ports and sizes. Repair shops need to expand their resources and train technicians on different kinds of devices in order to serve the masses. This diversity gives consumers more options to suit their needs, but comes a cost.
